The October 2023 newsletter is now available. Thank you, Kathy Gross, for putting together this issue, which includes information on the September annual meeting and election of the new Board of Directors, a short article on how the homeowner association handles investments, an article on earthquake preparedness, an announcement of a holiday party in December, information on insurance, a reminder to shut off external faucets and disconnect hoses, and an elk.
At this year’s Annual Meeting the following were elected to two-year terms, Gerry Hatler and Mark Anderson. The budget was approved for 2024 and the HOA will use a Financial Review for our financials.
At a Board Organizational Meeting following the Annual Meeting, the following assignments and responsibilities were made by the Board:
President – Gerry Hatler
Vice President – Mark Anderson with responsibility for Exterior Maintenance Committee and the Architectural Control Committee
Secretary – Lawrence Charters with responsibility for the Communication and Outreach Committee
Treasurer – Betty Gwaltney with responsibility for the Insurance Committee
Member at Large– Warren Husman with responsibility for the Landscape Committee and the Natural Habitat Committee
There were 75 ballots cast out of a potential 139. There were 22 people in attendance at the meeting.
Thank you to all who participated. The Board looks forward to another successful year.
Bring an appetizer or dessert to share and your choice of beverage. We will provide plates, cups, napkins and cutlery. Spouses, friends and neighbors are welcome so if you know of someone who didn’t get this email and wants to come, please forward it to them.
If you have a lawn game that you would like to bring and share, it would be welcome and appreciated!
Please RSVP so we can be sure to have enough plates and cups.
Picnic table and benches are available for outside and inside use. However, bring your lawn chair if you prefer to sit in something other than a bench.

Our editor, Kathy Gross, not only put together the content from a number of collaborators, but also created the web version of the newsletter, in addition to paper copies for those without Internet services. For the first time since 2019, Sunland North had a holiday party under the bright, glittering lights of Blyn. Attendance was down a bit from past years. It was still a welcome winter break.
