Long-Range Planning Workshops

Looking Ahead For Sunland North

March 20, 2019 was the first of a proposed series of workshops for owners to begin developing and exploring a range of options as part of the long-range planning for Sunland North. The HOA was turned over from the Developer to the owners in November 2012, and while there have been plenty of things to figure out as an association since then, we’d not to-date tackled this kind of longer-range thinking. The proposed series of workshops are a starting point for discussions; no decisions are being made at this time, but we need owners’ ideas and the issues out there for further exploration and evaluation as part of our future as a community.  An action time frame is probably 3-5 years away.

It’s anticipated that each workshop will focus on one topic and the goal will be to keep the discussion clear but concise, capturing everyone’s ideas but not trying to come to any conclusions at this point.  The first workshop focused on the Open Space (“Greenbelt”) that surrounds Sunland North.  Building on the owner survey conducted in January 2019, priority topics for future workshops (one topic per workshop) could include exterior maintenance, landscaping, improving our reserves, earthquake insurance, pros and cons of hiring paid management, and the CC&Rs, for example.

Stay tuned for announcement of future sessions.
