President’s Message –Richard Edes (Volunteer)
I’d like to say your new Board is off and running but I think we are off and crawling! We have four new Board members and our remaining Board member has a new position so we are all learning. Please be patient with us, we all have a desire to serve you well but we have a lot to learn. Fortunately, we have those who have served before us to help us learn the ropes.
I have had difficulty with the contact email address used on our website so if you have sent a message and did not get an answer, I apologize. This should be remedied by the time you get this message. Google and I are learning to be friends!!
We have such wonderful volunteers serving on our Board and committees. These neighbors have such a willing attitude to give of their time and expertise. Our owners have such diverse backgrounds and experience and we all benefit from that pool of knowledge. I encourage all of you to consider being a volunteer. Find an area of interest and get involved. Our volunteers are the backbone of our community. A resident run association not only saves us management fees but allows us “hands on” involvement. I am learning about all of the services that are provided by our volunteers from producing a newsletter to trapping moles! I certainly have to acknowledge those that are managing our maintenance, landscape, open space, architectural control, grievance and so much more. Thank you.
Please contact me (just don’t use Google), just kidding, if you have a question or concern. I will do my best to assist you. I think you will find your new Board eager and interested in representing your association. I am already very impressed with each individual and I know they will be of good support to me.
I couldn’t close without saying thank you to Keven Estes and his staff for developing such an attractive neighborhood. Our floor plans are impressive and I have heard from others that they could not find a similar neighborhood elsewhere. Our townhomes have great value.
Until next time, go out and have some fun!!
Richard Edes, President, Division 17 (Volunteer)
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM SLOA
Please attend an important meeting with Clallam County District I Commissioner Jim McEntire on Thursday, November 12th at 4:00 pm at the Sunland Golf Club Ballroom. He will be discussing road concerns regarding Medsker, Taylor Blvd., and Woodcock Road access to and from Sequim Dungeness Way.
Treasurer’s Report-Jim Jones (Volunteer)
Please review the September financial report by accessing www.sunlandnorthownersassociation.com, then clicking on Owner Information and scrolling down and clicking on Financial Reports. We were over budget more than $8,000 due primarily to funding the installation of the Water Meter Setters as an unbudgeted operating expense rather than using Reserves to fund the installation.
A preliminary draft of the October financial report was presented at the November 3, 2015 Board meeting. In October, expenses were less than $7,500, which is much lower than the average of the previous nine months. As a result, at the end of October we were only $1,600 over budget. The final October financial report will be posted on the Sunland North web site as soon as it is finalized. Finally, a transfer of $14,593 will be made to the Reserves in November, which will bring the total for 2015 to $26,593 as planned.
Secretary’s Report-Tom Steffen (Volunteer)
Our next Board meeting is Tuesday, December 1, 2015. The meeting will begin at 2:30 pm and will be held at the Gathering Place, 135 Fairway Drive.
Remember to send me any changes to the Information Sheet you completed (phone numbers, emergency contacts, etc.) and submitted. All information is keep secure and not shared outside of official and very limited Division 17 business. My e-mail address is www.sunlandnorthsecretary@gmail.com.
Architectural Control Committee Report – Barbara Ross (Volunteer)
The Architectural Committee examined properties and has approved three exterior change requests in October. The unit at 160 Mt Baker has been completed. The units, 150 Cascadia Loop and 340 Blakely Blvd have not been completed.
Exterior Maintenance & Inspection Report-Richard Helmenstine (Volunteer)
The fall home inspection is currently being completed throughout the division. All inspections should be completed by mid November.
Moss treatment of roofs will begin in early November. This will be an ongoing project. The product being applied will not show immediate results and will work over a period of time. This application will not require any access to the roof itself.
All residents are reminded to remove hoses from the exterior water spigots to prevent freezing. The Association is NOT responsible for freezing or damage that may occur.
Any questions regarding these notices can be addressed to Richard Helmenstine, Exterior Maintenance (360) 504-0019.
